About our Handcrafted Jewellery
Fey Stone and Silver is about the quality of feeling enchanted. Each handcrafted item is a piece of art in itself. We use a range of premium quality materials in our handcrafted jewellery including semiprecious gemstones, pearls, and glass. Our range also features Dichroic Glass and Precious Metal Clay.
Dichroic Glass uses an optical effect where by, when viewed at different angles, different colours appear. It's created by heating metallic elements onto a glass base. More layers of glass are then fused on. Its true beauty can only be appreciated when viewed in person. All the dichroic glass featured in our jewellery is kiln fused by local English artists.
Precious Metal Clay is a relatively new material created by the Mitsubishi company. It is made up of fine silver particles that are suspended in an organic binder. It can moulded or sculpted like ceramic clay. During the firing process, the organic binder burns away leaving behind a pure silver product.
We endeavour to source most of our supplies from local UK businesses and all of our products are hand made in the UK.
About the Artist
My first venture into jewellery design started in high school. We learned basic skills including soldering, riveting, antiquing, bezeling, filing, and polishing. My first project was a simple knotted ring and progressed to more complicated forms using sheet metal and wire. Following high school, I studied graphic design at university. I took up jewellery making again 3 years ago. I've always found it difficult to find jewellery to my taste and I soon realized that I missed the satisfaction of creating something unique and beautiful. There is no item on this site that I wouldn't wear myself.
